Colouring Techniques

What type of hair colour should I ask for?

Not sure what kind of hair colour you would like?  We are more than happy to help you, whether that be advice, inspiration or helping you understand your options.  At Salon Cabelo Hairdressers we allow the time to get to know you and your hair.  All our consultations are free of charge.

  • Tint

Tints and be applied to just the root area or the whole of your hair.  Tints can be used to enhance your natural colour or to change it. Aveda's full spectrum allows us to create excalty the right amount of depth, tone,  and coverage.  Whether you are looking for a shiney demi permanent colour, a permanent maximum grey coverage, or a root touch up and ends refreshed our colourists will make your colour bespoke to you.

  • Foils

Foiling is a technique that uses foil to separtate the strands of hair for highlighting or/and lowlighting.  Sections can be thicker or thinner, depending on the exact look you’re trying to achieve.

  • Balayage

Balayage meaning 'to sweep' is a technique where the colour is painted freehand to create a natural looking result.  it gives a soft blend finish typically darker at the root and lighter towards the ends. Balayage is perfect for creating a low maintenance, lived in look.

  • Toner

Toners can be used to add tone and to nutralise any unwanted tone.  And as well as adding colour a toner  will add shine to natural hair and won't affect the colour. By reflecting the light, this gives hair a super glossy effect.

Depending on your hair type, toner can last between two-to-six weeks. The general rule of thumb is that previously coloured hair which is more porous will hold colour for less time.

Important. Safety first.

An allergy alert test is required at least 48 hours before a hair colouring service. This allows us to check for any skin sensitivities, ensuring your safety.
