Allergy Alert Test
Why is it Essential?
The health and well being of our guests is a priority. Hair colourants contain many different kinds of ingredients that may cause an allergic reaction. PPD or paraphenylenediamine is one ingredient that has a strong allergen that can trigger a severe reaction.
It is legal requirement for our health and safely and insurance polices that we follow allergy alert testing procedure.
What if I already have colour, do I still need a test?
If you have not had a colour service at our salon within the last twelve months then you will need to have an allergy alert test. Although you may never have had an adverse reaction before, your sensitivity to allergens can change over time. Factors such as having a tattoo, using henna, reactions to other products and changing your colour brand can increase your likelihood of a reaction.
How does it work?
There is no need to book an appointment for this, simply pop into the salon at least 48 hours before your colour appointment and a member of our team will complete an allergy alert test for you, it only takes a few minutes.
A small quantity of the hair dye will be applied to your skin, which needs to left for 48 hours. If you obvert any negative reactions then please let us know.
Under 16?
Due to manufactures advise we are not allowed to use any hair colourants on anyone under the age of 16. It is sad news for us as well and we are sorry that we can't provide this service.
